This block has a “whimsical” look; therefore, don’t worry about the exact placement of your vine, flowers or leaves. Try pinning the three large flowers in place first, spacing them out within the length of the background rectangle. Next, lay out the long vine, curving it between and behind the three large flowers. Once you are pleased with the layout, add the small stems, small flowers and leaves and appliqué all pieces in place. When stitching the checkerboard borders to this block, pay particular attention to the placement of the brown and pink squares, which will come into play when sewing the quilt top together.
Only two more months to go! Happy quilting!

See Karen - if you weren't so far ahead you would have read this tip instead of spending hours agonizing over where to put each piece and analyzing Vicki's pattern pictures and layout to make sure each one was exactly where it should be. I have to give you a bad time now because in 2 days I will officially be behind because I'm not going to have my month 4 blocks done. Sigh :( Oh well I'm over it now :)I'll just pretend that it's my "plan" and I was "planning" on doing that applique at the same time I did month 5 applique... yeah that's the ticket! I'm being "efficient"!
