Month 3 Tip

When working with pre-cut 5” charm squares, there may be times when not every charm square is exactly 5”. To ensure a 4-1/2” half-square triangle, try taking a “scant” ¼” seam allowance when stitching on each side of the drawn line. Before squaring them up (a bias square acrylic ruler works the best for squaring up half-square triangles), try lightly spraying them sizing. Each unit will lay nice and flat, making a more accurate cut and making it easier to match up your seams when constructing the block.
